The furniture assembly technician works for certified installers, manufacturers in sectors such as office furniture, professional fit-outs, retail shops, commercial agencies, and exhibition stands. They also work for private clients, assembling furniture in living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, and more.
Main Mission
The assembler assembles furniture parts, chairs, panels, veneers, or layout elements according to assembly plans. They participate in various phases including handling, loading and unloading trucks, distributing items within rooms, and collecting empty packaging.
They comply with quality standards, safety rules, and delivery deadlines while contributing to productivity goals.
Basic Skills
- Identify assembly operations from instructions (plans, bills of materials, production orders).
- Pre-position parts, elements, and subassemblies (seats, uprights, etc.).
- Fit assembly components (dowels, tongues, metal connectors, etc.) and glue the adjoining parts.
- Assemble and fix elements according to the assembly sequence.
- Verify the conformity of the assembly (appearance, stability, squaring, clearance, etc.) and make adjustments (final tightening, support, etc.).
